The Dockyard Restaurant is a seafront restaurant in St Helier, on the promenade at Havre des Pas, a few feet from the sea wall. It is the restaurant of Marina Metro Hotel and it is open to members of the public as well as to hotel residents, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There are two ways to eat here. The alfresco deck runs along the promenade itself, facing the bay, and guests describe sitting out there watching the tide come in and go out. The indoor dining room also looks over the water, so a grey day does not cost you the view.
The cooking is British and seafood led. Dishes guests have singled out in their reviews include moules, a double baked cheese souffle, a salmon souffle, creme brulee, and fish and chips. Breakfast is served in the same room overlooking the bay, with full English, continental, vegetarian and fish options that have included poached smoked haddock, grilled kippers, and smoked salmon with scrambled egg.
To book a table, call the hotel on +44 1534 724519. Booking is advisable in the evening and through the summer, particularly if you want a window table or a place on the terrace.

Friendly, accommodating, personal service and great food
Martin//★★★★★5 out of 5
I stayed for six nights on business. Excellent beachfront location within very easy walk of town centre. Overall price of accommodation very competitive. The Dockyard Restaurant serves excellent food at great value. Staff team attentive and friendly across the board. Geoff and Rogerio always stop for a chat and find out how your day has been.
What this guest liked: If you eat nothing else at the Marina Metro, have the double baked cheese souffle for a starter and share head chef Chris's passion for his art.
You can't get closer to the sea without being in it
Belinda//★★★★★5 out of 5
Started with tea on the restaurant terrace, which is on the promenade, then walked east along the sea front. Second day walked along the coast from the hotel, returning via the stunning Samares gardens and spending the evening in the centre of St Helier.
What this guest liked: Sea front location, dining room looking out to sea, excellent breakfast menu including three choices with fish, comfort of beds and linen, cleanliness, friendliness of staff.

From arrival on a Sunday afternoon to departing five days later, our expectations were surpassed by the facilities and staff at this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable with a sea view.
What this guest liked: The restaurant is nicely situated with sea views. Breakfast and dinner very well presented with fresh and varied ingredients, by staff who take time to listen and ensure the meals are to your liking.

I enjoyed a relaxing holiday in a friendly hotel with very helpful staff. The meals were delicious and beautifully presented, my room was very clean and comfortable, and there is a lovely lounge with a sea view and balcony. The location is excellent on the sea front but convenient for walking into town and also on a bus route.
What this guest liked: Friendly staff, good food, clean comfortable room, and a very competent receptionist who helped in booking tours and trips. Everyone made me feel at home.
Nice, relaxing part of St Helier

Small family hotel, not part of a large chain. Friendly, helpful staff, really interested in guests. Very professional. Large rooms, clean. Good restaurant. Recommend the table d'hote for residents. Spectacular sea view from the restaurant and the room. Town ten minutes walk, large public car park five minutes walk.
What this guest liked: Just normal, friendly people.
Excellent value for money

A very enjoyable overnight stay. Conveniently situated on the Number 1 bus route which takes less than five minutes from the town centre. The hotel itself is right on the sea front with the waves almost lapping at the door when the tide is in. Nice bedroom and good breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the sea.
What this guest liked: Well positioned, good breakfast, friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable bedroom.
Drinks on the not quite beach

A small friendly hotel where nothing is too much trouble.
What this guest liked: The food is good and the staff lovely. The terrace overlooks the beach and I could sit and look at the tides, whether they are in or out, and the view is spectacular any time of the day.
What they would change: The shower is capricious and is sometimes very hot and sometimes very cold.
Proper customer service

I am a mum who treated her daughter to this short break in Jersey as she is getting married in six weeks. We have nothing but good to say about the place. Short bus ride into town and right next to the beach and outdoor pool. We both felt very safe as two females.
What this guest liked: Friendly people, especially Victoria the receptionist, and Roger the owner who persuaded us to eat dinner at the hotel. We were not disappointed, the food was exquisite.
